Between January and February 2026, BCCC-Africa organized a series of plastics awareness workshops for students of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, aimed at increasing awareness of plastic pollution and promoting sustainable environmental practices. The workshops brought together representatives from the institution, the Oyo State Ministry of Environment, NESREA, RecycleEdge, and FBRA, who engaged with students on the environmental and socio-economic impacts of plastic waste.

During the sessions, students received training on plastic pollution, effective waste management strategies, and recycling practices. They were also introduced to practical approaches for reducing plastic waste and promoting sustainable habits. The initiative was designed to equip the students with the knowledge and skills needed to serve as environmental ambassadors, enabling them to raise awareness and encourage responsible waste management practices during their National Youth Service and within their communities.
