Sub-regional workshop to enhance science-policy-industry interaction and to support Parties in science-based decision-making for the implementation of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm (BRS) Conventions

From the 28th of January to the 30th of January, 2020 the Secretariat of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm conventions in cooperation with the Basel Convention Coordinating Centre for the Africa Region in Ibadan, Nigeria (BCCC Africa) is organizing a three-day training workshopaimed at improving the effectiveness of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm conventions, by increasing the understanding of participants on the importance of accessibility and availability to scientific and technical information relevant to the conventions and building national capacity to review and assess scientific and technical information for decision-making and implementation of the conventions.

The training will include presentations, group discussions, simulation exercises and sharing of experience and practices related to national capacity to review and assess scientific and technical information for decision-making and implementation of the conventions.
